Tintorera 2022

Deep and glossy nose of cherries, minerals and fresh blackberries. Juicy and pretty full-bodied on the palate, showing firm, fine tannins and concentrated fruit. Round, creamy and flavorful. Lovely now, but can hold.

Michael has a dark secret, he loves a good Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Yet Cabernet does not flourish in Campo de Borja and it is a foreign grape to the region and he prefers to use local varieties, so he uses Garnacha Tintorera to create a big, dark and structured wine that resembles some of his Napa favorites, which maintain freshness and juiciness while including spicy and toasty aromas and flavors from the oak maturation.
